Contour Software Pvt Ltd in Islamabad is seeking a DevOps Engineer to embed with development teams, designing and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. You will focus on Kubernetes-based development environments, tooling, and secure, efficient releases, while avoiding customer-facing infra responsibilities.

The role emphasizes automation, AI-assisted tooling, and continuous process improvement within a development-centric DevOps scope.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Azure services relevant to development infrastructure including networking basics.
• CI/CD: Building and maintaining pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).
• Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS preferred).
• Infrastructure-as-Code: ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or similar.
• Scripting & Automation: Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of security best practices within DevOps and Kubernetes.
• AI in DevOps workflows.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Azure DevOps AI).
• Experience using AI/ML for log analysis, test automation, or deployment validation.
• Applying AI for security scanning (code, containers, and infrastructure).
• Automating documentation, release notes, and process improvements with AI.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and continually improve CI/CD pipelines for development and test environments.
• Automate builds, testing, deployments, and other manual R&D processes to improve speed and reliability.
• Work closely with developers to improve development tooling, workflows, and infrastructure.
• Enhance and secure Kubernetes clusters used for development and non-production environments.
• Implement and advocate for best practices in containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and secure DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with R&D to ensure deployments are efficient, repeatable, and consistent.
• Continuously assess opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and developer experience.
• Stay current with emerging DevOps technologies, and introduce improvements that benefit the development lifecycle.
• Share knowledge and support team learning, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

POSITION

Reporting to the Development Team Lead, the DevOps Engineer will be embedded within the development teams to design, implement, and improve the development infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

This role is focused on enabling R&D productivity and delivery, through automation, tooling, and secure, efficient deployments to our Kubernetes environments. The engineer will ensure smooth developer workflows, resilient CI/CD pipelines, and continual improvements to development processes and internal infrastructure.

Importantly, this role is not responsible for customer-facing production infrastructure, live monitoring, or direct customer support.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
