Reports to: The Custodian will work under the supervision of the Building Principal and Head Custodian.

Job goals: To provide students with a safe, clean, and efficient place to learn, play, and develop.

Employment: 12 month work year

Salary: Based on the bargaining unit contract for non-certified personnel

Qualifications

• Certification of good health by a licensed physician.
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all time.
• Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
• Shovels, plows, and/or sands walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate.
• Checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
• Sweep classrooms daily and dusts furniture.
• Cleans corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requires it.
• Scrubs, hoses down, and disinfects bathroom floors daily and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
