Job summary

Frontier Works Organization seeks IT/Network monitoring staff to oversee control room systems, CCTV, and security monitoring displays at a mining site.

The role requires a Diploma in IT/Networking or a Retd NCO from Signals/EME, with skills in TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, IP addressing, and monitoring expertise. Suitable for candidates comfortable with shift work on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma in IT/Networking or Retd NCO from Corps of Signals / EME is required.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving computer, software, and peripheral issues is needed.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, IP addressing, and network connectivity is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor IT systems, network connectivity, servers, and control room equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Oversee CCTV, IP cameras, access control, and security monitoring displays across the site.
• Identify and report IT issues to the relevant technical teams and escalate as needed.
• Maintain control room logs, incident reports, and shift handover documents.
• Respond to alarms and technical incidents per established procedures.
• Coordinate with IT technicians, security, and operations to resolve issues and maintain monitoring services.

Job description

• Monitor IT systems, network connectivity, servers, and communication equipment from the control room to ensure continuous operation.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems, IP cameras, access control systems, and security monitoring displays across the mining project site.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report IT hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues to the relevant technical team.
• Monitor network devices, including routers, switches, Wi‑Fi access points, and communication links between site offices and operational areas.
• Maintain control room logs, incident reports, system status records, and shift handover documentation.
• Respond to IT system alarms, communication failures, and technical incidents in accordance with established procedures.
• Coordinate with IT technicians, security personnel, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and maintain uninterrupted monitoring services.
• Ensure proper operation of control room equipment, follow site safety and security procedures, and promptly elevate critical system failures.
