Job summary

DP World NLC Logistics (Pvt.) Limited in Pipri is seeking a commercially focused Commercial Officer to drive growth, manage client relations, and streamline terminal-to-rail logistics processes for our freight corridor and multimodal operations.

You will bridge the commercial team with service providers and internal operations, ensuring accurate documentation, timely shipments, swift issue resolution, and effective revenue monitoring. Prior 2–4 years in port/logistics preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or related field.
• 2–4 years in commercial operations, customer service, or business development within port/logistics/railway terminal environments.
• Familiarity with terminal operating systems and rail logistics procedures.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with customers on shipments, container movements, and rail-freight linkages.
• Resolve customer queries and operational issues promptly to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Draft, review, and support commercial documentation, contracts, SLAs, and handling paperwork.
• Monitor service orders, gate logs, and revenue-related activities with billing and finance teams.
• Assist in business development, market research, and identify process improvements.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Commercial Officer to drive commercial growth, manage client relations, and streamline terminal-to-rail logistics procedures for our Dedicated Freight Corridor and Multimodal Logistics Park located at Pipri marshalling area. In this role, you will act as the vital bridge between our commercial team, service providers, and our internal operations team—ensuring seamless documentation, efficient shipment handling, rapid issue resolution, and effective revenue monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Coordination & Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of to proactively collaborate with customers to manage procedural activities regarding their shipments, container movements, and rail-freight linkages.
• Address and resolve customer queries, complaints, and operational issues swiftly to ensure high satisfaction and long-term retention.

Commercial Documentation & Agreements

• Draft, review, and support commercial documentation, contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and railway handling paperwork.
• Maintain clear and updated records of customer accounts, rate sheets, and contractual obligations.

Service Orders & Revenue Monitoring

• Monitor service orders, gate logs, and terminal-to-rail processing workflows to ensure contractual commitments are met.
• Coordinate closely with the billing and finance teams to track revenue-related activities, ensuring accurate charging for storage, handling, and rail transit services.

Business Development & Continuous Improvement

• Assist in business development initiatives, client acquisition campaigns, and market research to expand terminal utilization and rail-freight volume.
• Identify operational bottlenecks or service gaps, implementing innovative corrective and preventive measures to enhance business effectiveness.
• Collect, analyze, and report market intelligence and operational data to management for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in commercial operations, customer service, or business development within a port, dry port, shipping, or logistics/railway terminal environment.

Core Competencies:

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
• Familiarity with terminal operating systems (TOS), supply chain documentation, and rail logistics procedures.
