Job summary

Mashreq in Pakistan is seeking a back-office specialist to handle cheque clearing transactions in English and Arabic, ensuring accuracy, authenticity, and compliance with procedures. The role focuses on timely processing within defined turnaround times.

You will verify maker and checker entries, balance clearing accounts daily, and contribute to process improvements while collaborating with internal stakeholders and relationship managers.

Qualifications

• Ability to read Arabic language cheques (words and numbers) and other communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• 3 to 4 years' experience in back-office operation in Cheque clearing banking operations.
• Good verbal/written communication and computer operating skills.
• Good knowledge of general banking rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Checking, verification and authorization of cheque transactions-English and Arabic within established delivery standards, to ensure their accuracy, authenticity and compliance with operating procedures.
• Promptly ensure maker and checker entries before cutoff and ensure SLA is met
• Drive completion of ques without any follow-up from supervisors.
• Acquire thorough knowledge of processes as well as operating systems and identify trainings to perform assigned task efficiently.
• Maintain and update documents and correspondence record systematically to ensure efficient retrieval.
• Identify gaps and recommend improvements in system and procedure to enhance efficiency minimize risk and improve delivery standards.
• Ensure all the clearing and collections account are balanced at the end of day.
• Actively learn the 2C process and handle correspondences with internal stake holders and Business RMs
