Responsibilities

  • Receive and process authorized cash/cheque payments strictly per procedures and fee schedules.
  • Issue official receipts promptly and ensure sequential control and documentation.
  • Maintain daily cash book and related registers (receipts, cheques, deposits).
  • Deposit collections into designated bank accounts with proper records and evidence.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of receipts vs. collections and bank deposits; report discrepancies.
  • Ensure safe custody of cash, cheques and financial instruments per internal controls.
  • Coordinate with Revenue/Accounts for posting receipts and month-end closing support.
  • Maintain audit trails and support internal/external audits and corrective actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the reporting authority.

Job description

This position is being recruited by Pakistan Single Window (PSW) on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA). NAFSA is being established as a strategic national initiative to strengthen Pakistan’s agri-trade ecosystem through enhanced regulatory oversight, facilitation, and modernization of food safety and trade processes. The selected candidate will be part of NAFSA’s foundational team, contributing to the development of systems, processes, and institutional capabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process authorized cash/cheque payments (and other approved instruments, if applicable) strictly in accordance with notified procedures, approved fee schedules, and segregation-of-duties controls
  • Issue official receipts promptly for all collections and ensure receipts are sequentially controlled, properly recorded, and supported with required documentation.
  • Maintain daily cash book and related registers (receipt register, cheque register, deposit register, receipt cancellation/void register where applicable) ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely posting
  • Ensure timely deposit of collections into the designated bank account(s) in line with approved timelines; maintain deposit slips/scrolls and supporting evidence in structured files.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of receipts issued vs. collections received vs. bank deposits; prepare reconciliation statements and immediately report any discrepancies, shortages, overages, or irregularities to the reporting authority.
  • Ensure safe custody of cash, cheques, and financial instruments through secure storage, controlled access, and adherence to internal control requirements (cash limits, dual control where applicable).
  • Coordinate with Revenue/Accounts teams for posting of receipts, resolution of reconciliation differences, and provision of supporting evidence for reporting and month-end closing.
  • Maintain complete audit trails and provide records promptly for internal/external audit; support compliance with all control observations and corrective actions as directed.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the reporting authority consistent with NAFSA’s mandate
Education:
  • Intermediate (twelve years) or equivalent; bachelor’s preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant cashiering/collections experience (public sector preferred).
  • Strong integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills and record-keeping competence.
