FinVolution seeks a seasoned Pakistan-based business development professional with 5+ years in fintech payment, banking, payment aggregation, and merchant acquiring.
The role focuses on local market strategy, strategic cooperation, and expanding head chain merchants with an emphasis on offline networks.
We are seeking a local Pakistani professional with 5+ years of fintech payment business development experience in Pakistan’s local banking, payment aggregation and merchant acquiring ecosystem. The ideal candidate has in-depth industry resources and practical experience in local mainstream banks, payment institutions and chain merchant markets.
Different from traditional solution project management roles, this position is 100% business development oriented, focusing on local payment institution strategic cooperation, head chain merchant expansion, and offline merchant network layout. The incumbent will rely on local industry resources to drive the landing of our innovative financial payment business, capture MDR sharing revenue through merchant acquiring scenarios, and build a sustainable local payment business ecosystem.
Conduct in-depth research on Pakistan’s local payment industry policies, SBP regulatory rules, merchant acquiring market status and competitive landscape. Accurately identify market pain points and business opportunities for innovative credit payment and acquiring scenarios. Independently sort out business demands, output targeted business development plans, and support the iterative optimization of local payment business models suitable for Pakistani market characteristics.
Develop and maintain core cooperative resources including local mainstream commercial banks (Bank Alfalah, etc.), payment aggregators, EMI wallets and third-party payment institutions. Take full charge of the whole BD process including potential partner mining, business negotiation, cooperation scheme confirmation, clause docking and contract signing. Efficiently coordinate internal product, technical and operation teams to resolve docking difficulties, ensure stable and long-term strategic cooperation landing, and accumulate high-quality local financial institution resources.
Focus on the core markets of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, independently develop and expand local head chain merchants and large B-end enterprise clients (including supermarkets, catering, retail fashion and other high-quality merchant resources such as Metro, Zara, McDonald’s). Explore diversified application scenarios of payment acquiring and credit payment, continuously enrich the company’s offline merchant service network, improve local market coverage and business penetration, and realize continuous growth of merchant scale and transaction volume.
Responsible for the overall revenue growth and performance output of local payment business, focus on MDR sharing revenue brought by merchant acquiring business. Track daily business transaction data and merchant operation status, regularly sort out business development progress and problems, and put forward optimization suggestions. Cooperate with relevant teams to ensure compliant and stable business operation in line with SBP regulatory requirements.
Give full play to local market advantages, continuously expand industry contacts and resource channels in banking, payment and merchant fields. Rely on the background of China’s overseas listed group, promote the company’s innovative financial payment business model, and build a good brand reputation in the local Pakistani fintech market.
5+ years of formal working experience in Pakistan’s local banking, payment aggregation, merchant acquiring or fintech business development. Has mature B-end institutional cooperation and merchant expansion experience, with independent BD negotiation and project landing capabilities.
Prior working experience in local mainstream banks, top payment institutions (payment aggregators, EMI wallets) and fintech companies is highly preferred. Familiar with the internal operation process, cooperation mechanism and profit model of Pakistan’s payment industry, with a clear understanding of local SBP financial regulatory policies.
