Job summary

nsave is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, implement, and scale infrastructure powering its fintech services. You will own critical subsystems, collaborate with CTO and engineering teams, and help ensure secure and compliant operations across markets.

You will work in an independent contractor role, contributing to architecture, reliability, and integration with banking services, while balancing speed and quality in a rapidly evolving fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in backend engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles.
• Proficiency in backend languages and frameworks relevant to scalable financial systems.
• Ability to operate independently and execute in fast-moving environments.
• Experience in startups, fintech, or regulated environments is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and own infrastructure, service architecture, reliability, build/release, and banking/compliance integrations.
• Improve system health by identifying weak spots and prioritising fixes.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and operations to ship features across markets.
• Contribute to engineering practices, code quality, and process improvements as we scale.
