Responsibilities

• Execute the engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technology roadmaps, and industry trends.
• Lead and oversee multiple engineering teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation, scalability, and delivery excellence.
• Architect and govern large-scale, distributed systems and enterprise-level solutions, ensuring best practices and design principles are followed.
• Shape the technology vision, evaluate emerging trends, and recommend strategic investments in tools, frameworks, and infrastructure.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Business leaders to translate strategic goals into scalable technical solutions.
• Establish and enforce engineering excellence, including coding standards, architectural guidelines, security practices, and DevOps automation.
• Lead technical governance and decision-making, balancing innovation with risk management, cost efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
• Mentor and develop engineering leaders, providing coaching and career growth opportunities.
• Champion a data-driven approach, leveraging analytics and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
• Represent engineering in executive discussions, communicating technical strategy, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on backend software development experience with scalable, high-performance systems.
• Proven experience in technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and driving architectural decisions.
• Backend Development & Architecture: Proficient in C# and .NET Core (or similar OO languages).
• Deep understanding of microservices, RESTful API design, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing and implementing high-availability, fault-tolerant systems.
• Database & Data Engineering: Advanced SQL and performance tuning for large datasets.
• Relational (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.).
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Databricks, Spark, NiFi) is a plus.
• Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; containerization and CI/CD pipelines.
• Messaging & Event-Driven Architecture: Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalents.
• Software Development Best Practices: Architecture design, code reviews, SOLID, TDD/BDD, and automation scripting (Bash, Scala, Perl, PowerShell).
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, or enterprise systems is highly preferred.
• Exposure to AI/ML or predictive analytics in backend applications is a plus.
