Job summary

Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi is seeking a Neurophysiology Technician to perform routine and advanced EEG procedures including neonatal and sleep EEG, evoked potentials, NCS, and assist in EMG under supervision. You will prepare patients, explain procedures, and coordinate with physicians. The role requires following SOPs, maintaining equipment, and participating in academic activities.

Candidates with a B.Sc. in Physiology or B.S.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Physiology or B.S. in Neurosciences with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine EEG including neonatal, portable, and sleep-deprived, evoked potentials, NCS, RNS, and assist in EMG with minimal supervision.
• Explain procedures to patients and provide reassurance.
• Carry out portable neurophysiology procedures and manage equipment/cart.
• Assist seniors/consultants in urgent cases and follow SOPs.
• Maintain lab cleanliness; manage equipment and stock with trainees.
• Communicate patient information effectively with doctors and colleagues.
• Follow infection control guidelines of LNH.
• Attend academic sessions, prepare trainee lectures, and handle emergency calls.
• Manage urgent/walk-in patients and work late hours, weekends, and holidays when required.
• Review typed reports before consultant signature.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals (biomedical, IT, maintenance, OPD staff).
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment/software issues, reporting to seniors.
• Participate in workshops, CME, conferences, and online courses for skill enhancement.
