Job summary

DP World Karachi is seeking an Assistant Manager Electronic Control to plan and safely execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial equipment, including cranes and generators. You will oversee technicians, coordinate with operations, and ensure documentation in MAXIMO.

The role requires 3–4 years of hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs, Masterdrive, SINAMICS, SIMOTION, and strong knowledge of safety regulations.

Qualifications

• BE in Electrical/Electronic Engineering; only HEC or university-attested degrees accepted.
• 3–4 years of hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing heavy industrial equipment (cranes, RTGs, generators, cement/steel/textile industries).
• Exposure to PLC programming, configuration, and troubleshooting of Siemens PLCs (S7300, 400, 1500) and advanced Siemens systems.
• Familiarity with Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP and CAN communication protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens Masterdrive, SINAMICS, and SIMOTION drive systems.
• Experience with electrical drawing learning and generators.
• Strong understanding of preventive & predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Operations on equipment availability and provide progress updates.
• Request and close MAXIMO Job Sheets; document work performed, man-hours, and downtime.
• Supervise maintenance activities and work with contractors for major breakdowns.
• Represent DP World professionally in line with safety culture and Code of Conduct.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors.

As Assistant Manager Electronic Control, you will be responsible for the planning and safe execution of all kinds of maintenance activities, including preventive, condition monitoring, corrective, and predictive maintenance.

• Achieve equipment KPIs as set by management.
• Communicate manufacturer-issued safety alerts and risks to staff.
• Supervise and execute planned, breakdown, and unscheduled maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Adjust maintenance plans (with supervisor approval) based on shift needs and available resources.
• Coordinate with the Operations Department on equipment availability and provide progress updates.
• Request and close MAXIMO Job Sheets for scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, ensuring accurate documentation of work performed, man-hours, and downtime.
• Work with contractors/consultants for major breakdown rectification as directed.
• Represent DP World professionally by demonstrating positive behavior aligned with company values, safety culture, and Code of Conduct.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• BE in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Only HEC or University attested degrees will be considered.

• Exposure to PLC programming, configuration, and troubleshooting of Siemens PLC, S7300, 400, 1500 and advance system of Siemens.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols like Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP and CAN communication
• Hands on Experience of Siemens Master drive systems, SINAMICS drive system and SIMOTION drive system.
• Hands on experience of Electrical drawing learning and worked on generators.
• Strong understanding of preventive & predictive maintenance practices.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations with the ability to enforce compliance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues.
• Proficient in MS Office and IBM Maximo maintenance planning & inventory software.
