Job summary

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited in Karachi is seeking a Data Analyst to examine gas consumption, distribution, metering and operational data for anomalies and counter-theft efforts.

You will use SQL, ERP modules and Power BI to clean, explore and visualize large datasets, generate dashboards for field operations, and collaborate with intelligence and management teams.

Qualifications

• BCS/BS in Computer Science with 3 years of experience or MBA with at least 2 years experience
• Candidate should have skillset to analyse consumption, distribution, metering and operational data using SQL, ERP, and Power BI; content writing and programming languages such as Python are preferred; knowledge of OGRA regulations will be preferred

Responsibilities

• Analyze data related to gas consumption, distribution patterns, and metering irregularities to detect anomalies and support anti-gas theft operations.
• Utilize SQL, ERP modules, statistical tools, and Power BI to extract, clean, explore, visualize, and transform large datasets for meaningful analysis.
• Identify suspicious consumption trends, system irregularities, and data patterns that may indicate theft, technical losses, or operational discrepancies.
• Prepare analytical dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide actionable insights for operational, intelligence, and management teams.
• Collaborate closely with field teams, intelligence units, and management to validate findings, support investigations, and improve decision-making.
• Support ongoing monitoring processes by developing automated data checks, anomaly detection methods, and performance indicators for theft-related activities.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and proper documentation of analytical processes, methods, and findings.
• Possess strong content writing skills to prepare clear, structured reports and have working knowledge of social media publication techniques for internal awareness campaigns or departmental communication needs.

The incumbent will use tools such as SQL, ERP-Modules, Statistical tools and Power BI.The candidate should have knowledge of Data cleaning/Exploration/Visualization/transformation to process large datasets, identify suspicious patterns, and generate actionable insights for operational and investigative teams. This position requires close collaboration with field operations, intelligence, and management teams to prevent losses and optimize gas distribution. Possess Content writing skills and social media publication techniques.
