Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking an ACCA Trainee for our Site Finance team. You will support financial analysis, month-end close and accounting tasks while working with finance colleagues across sites.

This role offers exposure to IFRS, ERP systems (SAP) and develops your ACCA journey through hands-on learning, reporting and partner collaboration. Fresh to 2 years of relevant experience is welcome; strong Excel skills and clear communication are valued.

Qualifications

  • ACCA (Qualified/ Part Qualified) is required for this role.
  • Fresh to 2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and IFRS.
  • Comfortable working with financial reporting tools and data extraction.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and a proactive approach to learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and year-end close; prepare journal entries, reconciliations and analysis of actual vs planned spend.
  • Assist in preparation of financial statements and routine management reports.
  • Help maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with local regulations and internal controls.
  • Support in preparing plans/budgets.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances with business partners.
  • Support audit and tax requests by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and use systems to automate routine tasks.
