Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Workday Specialist to support, configure, and continuously improve our Workday HCM platform. You will provide third-level technical and functional support across Workday modules and integrations, delivering scalable solutions aligned to business requirements.

Collaborate with Workday Leads, the People team, and stakeholders to implement changes, support releases, and maintain governance and ITSM practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in Workday HCM implementation and support.
• Experience with Core HCM and Absence modules.
• Experience configuring Workday business processes, security, and integrations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong understanding of HR lifecycle processes and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of ITSM processes and Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.

What will you do?

As a Workday Specialist, you will be responsible for the support, configuration, enhancement, and continuous improvement of Aurecon's Workday HCM platform. You will provide third-level technical and functional support across Workday modules and integrations, deliver scalable solutions aligned to business requirements, and support Workday releases and platform improvements. Working closely with the Workday Leads, People team, and business stakeholders, you will help deliver solutions that support Aurecon's IT Vision, Strategy, and Priorities.

Key things you will do

• Continuously seek improvements and simplification by building enhancements and implementing changes to streamline Workday HCM processes.
• Provide support and troubleshooting on Workday integration patterns and related HCM systems, including AD, ADGM, Stage, and other connected platforms.
• Manage service and support requests relating to Workday HCM and associated systems, including business process, security, and configuration changes based on business requirements.
• Execute end-to-end Workday defect management, including investigation, testing, implementation, and post-deployment support, ensuring delivery against agreed KPIs and SLAs.
• Configure and deploy Workday enhancements and solutions that align with business requirements and technology standards.
• Support Workday bi-annual releases, including impact assessment, regression testing, validation, and deployment of new functionality.
• Work closely with People, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver effective configurations, enhancements, and technical solutions.
• Maintain accurate system documentation and ensure adherence to governance, quality, security, Agile, and ITSM practices.

Firstly, strong sense of responsibility, flexibility, and adaptability to varying request. Demonstrated ability to analyse business requirements and deliver solutions in collaboration with business stakeholders to meet deadlines. You will also need the following:

• 3+ years experience in Workday HCM implementation and support, including hands-on configuration, enhancements, and Workday release activities.
• Proven experience supporting and enhancing Workday HCM modules, particularly Core HCM and Absence.
• Experience configuring and deploying Workday business processes, security, custom objects, validations, reports, and integrations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any related discipline.
• Strong understanding of HR/employee lifecycle processes and experience working with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of ITSM processes, Service Management tools, and Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in a Global Shared Services, multinational, or enterprise environment; Workday certification and exposure to additional Workday modules are highly regarded.
