Job summary

WSP in Manila is seeking a Senior Wind Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team focused on wind energy projects. You will collaborate on technical design and delivery for wind pre-construction and energy yield assessments for utility-scale wind farms.

The role involves client interaction, proposals, site visits, and field investigations, with a strong emphasis on IEC standards and wind engineering tools such as WindPRO, WindFarmer, Openwind, WAsP and CFD/QGIS.

Qualifications

• Requires engineering degree with wind energy exposure.
• Experience in wind resource/energy yield assessments for pre-construction or operating wind farms.
• 3–10+ years in wind engineering or consultancy.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.

What you'll do

• Collaborate on the technical design and delivery of projects.
• Be a part of a multi-disciplined engineering team delivering wind pre‑construction and operational energy yield assessments, technical due diligence, power curve verification, and independent engineering for utility scale wind projects.
• Assist in the scope and budget development in response to client’s needs and objectives.
• Interface with internal/external stakeholders to:
  • Contribute to the broader team effort of business development including the participation in project proposals,
  • Adopt an autonomous working style within a multi-disciplined engineering environment,
  • Undertake site visits and field investigations when required.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant engineering degree from a recognised institution
• Extensive experience within a (Senior) Wind Engineer or similar role, ideally within a consultancy, undertaking wind resource and energy yield assessment for pre‑construction or operational wind farm.
• With at least 3 years and up to 10+ years’ experience
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills,
• Experience using one or more wind engineering software packages, such as WindPRO, WindFarmer, Openwind, WAsP, CFD modelling, or QGIS
• Proficient in data analysis, statistics, and technical reporting
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant IEC standards.
