Job summary

IRRI is seeking a Researcher based at the HQ in Los Baños, Philippines, to support wild rice conservation. The role focuses on genebank operations, SOP adherence, data collection and analysis, and collaboration with internal and external partners to meet project targets and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will contribute to routine research activities, prepare reports and publications, and assist in training materials and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Proven technical proficiency in conducting field, screenhouse and laboratory experiments.
• Strong leadership and analytical skills.
• Team player, organized and can work in a multi-cultural setting.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Can work independently or with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Contribute in the planning and implementation of all genebank operations related to Wild Rice Conservation.
• Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment needed for routine activities and coordinate plant management activities.
• Collect, process, and analyze data to ensure database accuracy and reliability.
• Support implementation of research activities and experiments related to wild rice.
• Collaborate with other genebank teams to achieve targets and deliverables.
• Communicate with internal and external partners for biosafety regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with IRRI services to ensure timely operations.
• Provide feedback to support SOPs and operational protocols.
• Maintain accurate data records and timely uploading for storage and retrieval.
• Prepare outputs and contribute to reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
