Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland’s BlueCare Labrador Aged Care Facility is seeking an experienced Wellness Partner to support residents’ physical, emotional and social wellbeing through engaging, person-centred programs. You will design and lead group and 1:1 activities and work closely with care staff to align with resident needs.

You will have a Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or equivalent, experience in aged care, and a strong understanding of dementia care, infection control and cultural safety.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering group and 1:1 activities in aged care or community settings.
  • Practical experience in creative, social, cognitive and physical activity facilitation.
  • Understanding of dementia care, person-centred practice and cultural safety.
  • Knowledge of infection control, manual handling and standards for aged care quality.
  • Exposure to person-centred care for older adults.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships with residents and families.
  • Ability to design and adapt lifestyle and wellness activities for residents with cognitive or physical limitations.
  • Understanding of dignity, cultural safety and individual choice in care delivery.
  • Satisfy probity checks as required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate inclusive group and 1:1 wellness activities for residents.
  • Build respectful relationships to promote independence, dignity and participation.
  • Collaborate with care staff and families to align programs with resident needs.
  • Guide and engage volunteers to contribute to resident wellbeing.
  • Gather resident and family input to improve programs and embed services.
  • Complete lifestyle assessments and maintain records; observe changes in wellbeing.
  • Organise activity spaces and materials; ensure safe environments.
  • Follow policies on safety, IPC and escalation procedures.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Wellness Partner to support residents’ physical, emotional and social wellbeing through engaging, person-centred programs at our BlueCare Labrador Aged Care Facility.

Employment Details
  • Employment Term: Permanent Roles Available
  • Location: Labrador Aged Care Facility
  • Remuneration: $39.21 p/hr + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate inclusive group and 1:1 wellness activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing
  • Build respectful relationships with residents, encouraging independence, dignity, choice and participation through meaningful engagement, companionship and emotional support
  • Collaborate with care staff, clinical teams, families, volunteers, the Wellness Lead and Home Services Lead to ensure programs align with resident needs
  • Guide, support and engage Volunteers so they feel confident, informed and able to contribute effectively to resident wellbeing
  • Seek resident and family input to improve programs, contribute ideas in meetings, and help embed HELF Services into everyday home operations
  • Complete lifestyle assessments (with supervision), maintain accurate records, and observe and report changes in resident wellbeing in line with escalation processes
  • Prepare, organise and maintain activity spaces, materials and equipment to ensure safe, welcoming and hazard‑free environments
  • Follow organisational policies (manual handling, WHS, IPC, emergency procedures) and contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback and observations
What Makes a Difference for Us

  • Exposure to person‑centred care principles and a sound understanding of the needs of older adults
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, allied health professionals, care staff and volunteers
  • Strong ability to build positive, respectful and trusting relationships with residents and their families
  • Ability to design and adapt lifestyle and wellness activities for residents with cognitive or physical limitations
  • Understanding of dignity, cultural safety and individual choice in care delivery
  • Satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or organisational policy
