Job summary

The WASH Engineer at CARE Philippines leads technical planning, design, and supervision of water supply projects under the AQUA Project, based in Virac, Catanduanes or Canlaon, Negros Oriental with travel to communities.

You will prepare designs, bills of quantities, and specs; supervise contractors, ensure safety and quality; and train operators for sustainable operation and maintenance, including water quality monitoring and source protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PRC) license required or eligible.
• Training in WASH programming, climate-resilient infrastructure, renewable energy, disaster risk reduction, or environmental management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments for water source availability, demand, climate risks and feasibility.
• Prepare and validate designs for climate-resilient water supply, including rainwater harvesting and solar-powered systems.
• Develop bills of quantities, cost estimates, specs, and material requirements.
• Provide design input ensuring accessibility, gender, and inclusion considerations.
• Supervise contractors and ensure safety, quality, and schedules.
• Lead handover and prepare operation and maintenance documentation.
