Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily warehouse operations, ensuring the proper receiving, storage, handling, picking, and dispatching of goods. The position supervises warehouse personnel, maintains inventory accuracy, ensures workplace safety, and implements company policies and procedures to achieve efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities.
- Ensure proper receiving, checking, storing, picking, packing, and releasing of goods.
- Monitor the proper arrangement and organization of stocks.
- Ensure that warehouse operations are conducted efficiently and according to company procedures.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Sales, Accounting, Logistics, and other departments regarding warehouse requirements.
2. Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy of physical stocks versus system records.
- Conduct and supervise regular cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, damages, shortages, and overages.
- Ensure proper documentation of all stock movements.
- Implement proper stock rotation, including FIFO/FEFO when applicable.
3. Personnel Supervision
- Supervise, assign, and monitor the work of Warehouse Helpers, Drivers, and other warehouse personnel.
- Prepare work schedules and assign daily tasks.
- Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance.
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse employees.
- Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Address work-related concerns and report disciplinary issues to HR or management when necessary.
4. Receiving and Dispatching
- Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, delivery receipts, and other documents.
- Ensure that received items are properly inspected, counted, and recorded.
- Verify outgoing goods before release to customers, branches, or other locations.
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation for all receiving and dispatch transactions.
5. Safety and Housekeeping
- Ensure that the warehouse is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety practices.
- Monitor proper storage and handling of materials and equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, damages, and other incidents to management.
- Ensure compliance with company safety and security policies.
6. Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse reports as required.
- Maintain accurate records of receiving, releasing, transfers, returns, and inventory adjustments.
- Report inventory discrepancies and operational issues to management.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement.
7. Equipment and Facility Management
- Monitor the proper use and condition of warehouse equipment, tools, and facilities.
- Report damaged or defective equipment for repair or replacement.
- Ensure that material-handling equipment is used properly and safely.
- Monitor warehouse space utilization and recommend improvements when necessary.
