Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Vice President Operations - Collateral & Risk for Manila (Securities Services). The role oversees collateral services across Kuala Lumpur and Manila, focusing on governance, risk reduction, and process optimization in a hybrid work setting.

Strong leadership across senior stakeholders and deep knowledge of collateral products are required. The position emphasizes building an end-state operating model, centralizing reconciliations where possible, and driving regional initiatives

Qualifications

Strong understanding of the Markets and Collateral management business.
Good cross asset class understanding esp. IR, Equity & Credit Derivatives, FX, Repos, SBL, structured products.
Knowledge of ISDA Credit Support documents.
Understanding of collateral assets: cash, bonds, equity, LOCs, etc.
Awareness of industry initiatives in Collateral (IOSCO margins, CCPs, EMIR, Dodd-Frank).
Experience in offshore operations with collateral processing focus.

Responsibilities

Ensure smooth operation of Collateral Securities Services teams across Kuala Lumpur and Manila (~30 FTE).
Build governance model and end-state operating model for efficiency and client experience.
Lead risk and control assessments and develop resolution strategies for breaks.
Drive regional initiatives and center-wide risk, people, policies projects.
Escalation point to resolve issues and coordinate with regional management.
