Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ working experience in underwriting or related operation jobs in MNC or local entities.
• Experience and knowledge in underwriting Marine Cargo/Hull business.
• Business-Focused Analysis and ability to deliver business results.
• Good organization and planning skills.
• Good leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and overall management of the Marine section to ensure smooth operation.
• Develop and implement sales and underwriting strategies for the section to achieve profitable growth.
• Achieve yearly sales and profitability budget.
• Underwrite and accept all marine cargo, cargo liabilities and marine hull business within limits and guidelines.
• Responsible for facultative reinsurance placement according to guidelines.
• Review renewal terms and follow up on policy renewal to achieve good retention.
• Arrange and/or conduct training for intermediaries and business partners.
• Participate in credit control and premium management.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects assigned by Senior Management.

Responsible for the overall business development, risk acceptance and management of Marine portfolio.

• Provide leadership and overall management of the Marine section to ensure smooth operation


• Develop and implement sales and underwriting strategies for the section to achieve profitable growth


• Achieve yearly sales and profitability budget


• Underwrite and accept all marine cargo, cargo liabilities and marine hull business in accordance with the assigned underwriting authority limits and within the company’s underwriting guidelines and treaty terms. To seek treaty clearance when necessary


• Responsible for the placement of facultative reinsurance in accordance with the company’s reinsurance security guidelines


• Review renewal terms and follow up on policy renewal before expiry to achieve good retention of business


• Arrange and/or conduct training for intermediaries and business partners


• Participate in credit control and premium management


• Participate in any ad-hoc projects assigned by Senior Management

Related University or Professional Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ working experience in underwriting or related operation jobs in MNC or local entities


• Experience and knowledge in underwriting Marine Cargo/Hull business
