Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking an Experienced Veeva Center of Excellence leader to establish and evolve a standardized, scalable CoE across the Veeva ecosystem. You will drive strategy, governance, and architecture while developing internal capabilities and ensuring regulatory compliance within a global, cross-functional context.

The role requires extensive hands-on Veeva Vault configuration, leadership of diverse teams, and collaboration with IT, Quality, and Compliance across functions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience implementing and supporting Veeva solutions.
• 5+ years of hands-on Veeva Vault configuration experience.
• Experience with Veeva platforms: Veeva RIM, Veeva eTMF.
• Experience in GxP-regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the CoE team; oversee recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning.
• Define the Veeva target architecture and maintain the technology roadmap.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope; manage risks and dependencies.
• Review designs, chair architecture boards, and enforce enterprise architecture standards.
• Support validation, testing, release management, and deployment activities.

Job description

The Position

Establish, lead, and evolve the Veeva Center of Excellence by combining strategic leadership, delivery governance, and architectural oversight to maximize business value from Veeva investments. Ensure standardized, scalable, compliant, and integrated solutions across the Veeva ecosystem, while developing internal capabilities, defining the technology roadmap, and acting as the key authority for Veeva strategy, architecture, and innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management: Lead and develop the CoE team (System Leads, SMEs, Testing, Developers, Business Analysts, Support). Drive recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and succession planning.

Enterprise Solution Architecture: Define the Veeva target architecture, develop architectural principles, standards, and design patterns; ensure consistency across RIM, eTMF, Data, and integrations. Maintain the Veeva technology roadmap.

Delivery Oversight: Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope; monitor risks, dependencies, issues, and escalations. Ensure compliance with validation, GxP, security, and quality requirements.

Technical Governance: Review and approve solution designs. Chair architecture review boards for Veeva initiatives. Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards. Define technical guardrails and best practices.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience implementing and supporting Veeva solutions.

• 5+ years of hands-on Veeva Vault configuration experience.

• Experience with one or more Veeva platforms:

• Veeva RIM

• Veeva eTMF

• Proven experience translating business requirements into system configurations and scalable solutions.

• Experience working in GxP-regulated environments.

• Experience supporting validation, testing, release management, and deployment activities.

• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues and performing root cause analysis.

• Experience working in global, cross-functional teams involving Business, IT, Quality, Compliance.

• Experience leading configuration workstreams in large transformation programs.

• Experience mentoring junior administrators and SMEs.

Mandatory Skills

• Veeva Platform Expertise: Deep knowledge of Veeva Vault architecture and capabilities.

• Configuration of: lifecycles, workflows, security models, objects and object relationships, dynamic access control, business rules, document types, reports and dashboards, notifications and automation

• Solution Design: Business process modeling, requirements analysis and solution design, gap analysis and fit-to-standard assessments, configuration impact assessment.

• Coaching, mentoring, and knowledge transfer
