Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Veeva Configuration Expert in the Philippines. You will act as the technical SME and configuration owner for Veeva solutions, ensuring scalable, compliant, and maintainable system configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience configuring and administering Veeva Vault applications (e.g., RIM, eTMF, Clinical, Quality).
• Proven ability translating complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable Veeva configurations.

Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Veeva platforms and modules, providing guidance on best practices and solution capabilities
• Design, configure, and maintain Veeva applications, including workflows, lifecycles, security models, objects, reports, and business rules
• Translate business requirements into scalable, compliant, and sustainable system configurations
• Collaborate with Business Consultants, Architects, and stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions aligned with business objectives
• Support system releases, upgrades, testing, validation, and deployment activities
• Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution of system incidents and defects
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, security, and governance standards
• Maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, and knowledge repositories
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement leveraging Veeva capabilities
• Contribute to the development of internal expertise by sharing knowledge and mentoring team members

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience configuring and administering Veeva Vault applications, such as RIM, eTMF, Clinical, Quality, or related Veeva platforms
• Proven experience designing and implementing business processes, workflows, lifecycles, security models, objects, reports, and business rules within Veeva solutions
• Demonstrated experience translating complex business requirements into scalable, compliant, and maintainable system configurations
• Experience leading or supporting implementation projects, system enhancements, upgrades, releases, validation, and deployment activities across the software development lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of GxP-regulated environments, Computer System Validation (CSV), data integrity requirements, and quality management processes
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams, including Business Process Owners, Product Managers, Architects, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, and external vendors
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex application issues, performing root cause analysis, and driving issue resolution in production environments
• Experience defining configuration standards, maintaining technical documentation, and supporting governance processes for enterprise platforms
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement leveraging platform capabilities
• Experience mentoring junior team members, sharing best practices, and contributing to organizational capability development
