Job summary

Princess Cruises is looking for a Utility Beverage Attendant in the Philippines to ensure seamless beverage service and enhance guest experiences. Responsibilities include supporting bar operations, delivering exceptional service, and maintaining compliance with safety and public health standards.

The successful candidate will have at least a year of relevant experience and capabilities in communication, organization, and teamwork, and should be motivated with a guest service focus.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in roles like Bar Waiter or F&B Runner.
  • Basic understanding of public health and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to organize work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of food and beverage products and operations.
  • Good command of English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

Description

Utility Beverage Attendant ensures seamless beverage service aboard, supporting guest experience, maintaining bar operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and public health standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Utility Beverage Attendant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of beverage service aboard. You will support the delivery of excellent guest experiences by ensuring the bar area is fully stocked, serving drinks promptly, and adhering to company standards. You will also work collaboratively with the Bartender and Bar Supervisor to maintain high standards of service and operational efficiency, all while promoting a safe and compliant environment.

Guest and Experience Ownership
  • Contribute to achieving KPI targets by embracing the Service Excellence program and experiential ownership.
  • Utilize MedallionClass products, services, and applications to enhance guest experiences.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for consistent product delivery, rectifying any service shortfalls to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere to and apply the Service Excellence philosophy consistently.
  • Possess expertise in beverage garnishes and glassware standards.
Food & Beverage Product Delivery and Operational Efficiency
  • Deliver all requested items, such as liquor and food, to designated bar locations as directed by the Bartender or Bar Supervisor, ensuring they are in good condition.
  • Ensure the bar is fully stocked with necessary ingredients, beverages, glassware, and utensils.
  • Assist bartenders by organizing and preparing ingredients, garnishes, and glassware.
  • Monitor inventory levels and promptly notify the Bartender or Bar Supervisor when items need to be replenished.
  • Deliver beverage service during busy events, company-sponsored parties, and private events under the direction of the Bartender or Bar Supervisor.
  • Aid in closing the bar area, ensuring it is ready for the next shift, while adhering to all USPH (United States Public Health) protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Bar Supervisor and Bar Management.
Financial Responsibility
  • Accurately and promptly record all guest and teammate orders using the onboard POS system.
  • Promote company initiatives to guests without compromising the beverage experience.
  • Follow all beverage accounting procedures when receiving and collecting stock, reporting any discrepancies to the Bar Supervisor or Bar Manager.
  • Assist with bar inventory accounts as directed by the Bar Supervisor or Bar Manager.
  • Take full ownership and accountability for inventory if assigned to the crew bar.
Safety and Compliance
  • Take responsibility for following all Environmental policies and procedures within the bar area, ensuring teammates follow correct protocols.
  • Enforce the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) policy and elevate any non‑compliance issues to senior management.
  • Maintain records required by the company and relevant governmental agencies regarding public health and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure that all teammates are following Public Health and PrincessWay standards and expectations.
  • Actively participate in Public Health pre‑arrival inspections of F&B outlets as directed by senior management.
  • Promptly perform assigned safety duties as outlined in the Emergency Response Procedures (ERP).
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Proven F&B Experience: At least 1 year of experience in roles such as Bar Waiter, F&B Runner, or similar positions in the food and beverage industry.
  • Public Health Knowledge: Basic understanding of public health and sanitation regulations and procedures.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Food & Beverage Knowledge: Working knowledge of food and beverage products, services, and general beverages operations.
  • Communication Skills: Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Guest Service Focus: A strong foundation in guest service with the ability and willingness to deliver exceptional service to our guests.
  • Motivated & Caring: Motivated to excel in all aspects of job duties with a warm, friendly, and caring personality. A passion for surprising and delighting guests throughout their cruise experience.
  • Teamwork & Professionalism: Commitment to maintaining professional and courteous working relationships in a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • Japanese language proficiency ranging from Basic (JLPT N5) to Fluent (JLPT N1). Candidates must be able to understand and hold conversations with Japanese guests.
