Job summary

Eutelsat Group is seeking an enthusiastic User Terminals Operations Engineer to lead engineering, maintenance, delivery and performance of user terminals in the LEO network. You will work with world-class vendors, engineering teams, service managers and operations teams to contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives.

This role requires experience in Tier 3 operations, firmware releases, and hands-on training of new features.

Qualifications

• Experience with SatCom and RF technologies.
• Experience with IP networks (routing and switching).
• Working knowledge of Linux OS and Python programming.
• Understanding of regulatory and test standards related to land, maritime and aviation industries.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 3 Operations Engineer support for User Terminal Service and Operations troubleshooting and debugging.
• Perform firmware and software release planning and testing for UTs; deliver hands-on training of new features.
• Collaborate with Dev Eng and System Eng to improve UT performance.
• Investigate and reproduce reported issues with UT vendors’ engineers.
• Create and maintain documentation regarding standards and processes.
• Support installation and configuration of user terminals.
• On-site engagement with technical support from Distribution Partners.
• Support on-call rotation for high-priority escalations.
• Travel up to 20% of the time.

Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled User Terminals Operations Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in the engineering, maintenance, delivery and performance of the many supported user terminals in the Eutelsat LEO network . In this position, you’ll work closely with world class user terminal vendors, engineering teams, service managers, and other operations teams to contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. Who You Are

As a UT Operations Engineer at OneWeb, you will play a key role in our business growth. You will work with other Operations Engineering and Development teams to provide tier 3 operational support for the early stages of new user terminals deployment, service support escalations, and new system features deployments.

What You’ll Do

• Provide Tier 3 Operations Engineer support for User Terminal Service and Operations troubleshooting and debugging
• Perform new firmware and software release planning and testing for a variety of UTsDeliver hands on training of new features and user terminals to Operations Team and Distribution Partners
• Work closely with the Dev Engineering and System Engineering to identify issues to improve the performance of UTs
• Investigate and reproduce reported issues with UT vendors engineers
• Create and maintain documentation regarding existing standards and processes
• Provide support for installation and configuration of user terminals
• On‑site engagement with technical support from Distribution Partners
• Support on‑call rotation for high priority escalations
• Travel up to 20% of the time

What You’ll Need

• Systematic and methodical approach to debugging and problem solving
• Experience with SatCom and RF technologies
• Experience with IP networks (routing and switching)
• Working knowledge and use of Linux OS and python programming
• Working understanding of Cellular Technologies would be desirable, e.g. 3GPP
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of regulatory and test standards related to land maritime and aviation industry
• Experience in electrical and mechanical skills required in Satcom
• Experience with RF test and measuring equipment
• A degree in a related engineering field (information systems, computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering)
• Ability to articulate problems and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audience
