Job summary

Shell is seeking an experienced US Country Controller to lead Group Financial Returns, Local Statutory Reporting, and ICFR across a portfolio of entities. You will partner with senior leaders, auditors, regulators, and cross-functional teams to ensure strong governance, compliance, and accurate reporting.

You will drive transformation, lead 5–10 direct reports within a Controller group, and oversee a global SOX/ICFR control environment while supporting business transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification with strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with US GAAP and external audit is an advantage.
• Ability to engage with CFOs and audit committees; strong governance focus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business and finance leaders to strengthen governance and risk controls.
• Lead delivery of accurate financial reporting and insights to senior leadership.
• Oversee US external reporting, regulatory and statutory compliance, and audits.
• Support risk management and drive continuous improvement in reporting.
• Lead transformation initiatives to automate and simplify processes.
• Develop and nurture a high-performing controllership team.
