Job summary

BDO Unibank, Inc. in the Philippines seeks an experienced Portfolio and Credit Manager to oversee a portfolio of commercial accounts, maintain direct contact with key decision makers, and drive profitability through pricing and product mix.

The role requires a solid banking background with at least 8 years in banking and 3 years in an officer level, plus credit analysis and loan packaging skills. Mentors team members and ensures policy compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in banking, with at least 3 years in an officer level role in account solicitation and relationship management principally in commercial and corporate accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management: Ensure solid and continuing relationship with clients and direct communication with key client decision makers.
  • Understand clients operations and markets through regular client contact and updates on local and global industry developments.
  • Manage a portfolio sub-set of credit worthy accounts that can influence volume, usage pricing and profitability as/when needed.
  • Vary client mix to ensure diversity of portfolio and avoid excessive concentration.
  • Drive the pursuit of new clients and product enhancements.
  • Monitor profitability of disbursement and product usage and coordinate with Team and operating units on pricing and product mix adjustments as needed.
  • Ascertain proper disposition and booking fees and commissions due to and from assigned clients within time frame allowed by Bank policies and procedures.
  • Credit and Risk Management: Track adherence to bank policies procedures such credit review and documentation requirements and work plans.
  • Evaluate periodically with the Relationship Managers the suitability of loan facilities against market conditions, competition, perceived growth and risk factors.
  • Review and recommend credit proposals based on quality of credit and cashflow statements, collateral and other risk mitigants and adherence to bank policies.
  • Guide and mentor Team members to improve sales and credit skills, bolster confidence, encourage growth and positive work experience.
  • Performs other functions as maybe assigned from time to time according to the established productivity and service quality standards.
