Job summary

OceanaGold’s Didipio Mine in the Philippines is seeking a Principal Mining Engineer to lead long-term mine planning and ensure alignment across planning horizons. You will integrate technical, operational, infrastructural, and economic inputs to deliver safe and sustainable outcomes.

The role focuses on developing schedules, coordinating teams, and maintaining planning standards while promoting a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years of underground mining planning experience, preferably open stoping.
• Strong knowledge of mine planning, scheduling principles, and sustainable mining practices.
• Proficiency in Deswik CAD and Scheduling Suite.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work within cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimisation of Life of Mine plans, production schedules, and infrastructure requirements.
• Coordinate quarterly and long-term planning activities across technical and operational teams.
• Monitor and update mine plans based on performance and priorities.
• Conduct scenario analysis and trade-off studies for decisions.
• Develop and maintain mine planning standards, systems, and procedures.
• Support safe and efficient operations through planning and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• Build relationships across site and corporate teams to support integrated planning.
• Mentor and develop engineering personnel and promote safety culture.
