Job summary

Amex GBT seeks a Travel Counselor to join our highly skilled remote team, delivering outstanding service to corporate clients and guiding travel options across air, rail, and hotels.

You will work with Amadeus GDS, ensure policy compliance, and collaborate with teammates to elevate service levels. Native German is required; English plus other languages are a plus. The role includes overnight shift allowances in our 24/7 Traveler Care program.

Qualifications

• Native German language required.
• GDS experience with Amadeus (Amadeus GDS) preferred.
• Minimum two years in a travel or customer-service role.

Responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate clients (individuals and groups).
• Research travel options, proactively anticipate traveler needs, and upsell services.
• Book domestic and international travel across air, rail, and hotels.
• Operate Amadeus GDS with training provided as needed.
• Ensure compliance with travel policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with team to coach and improve service levels.

Please kindly note this role is to work for our After Hours team in a shared customer environment

What You'll Do on a Typical Day

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups)
• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and pro-actively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services
• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations
• Use of Amadeus Global Distribution System - Refreshment training may be provided
• Ensure compliance to customers' agreed travel policy, service provider policies, and regulatory requirements
• Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests
• Collaborate within your team to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to improve service levels

What We're Looking For

• Passion for excellence in client service, including proactive anticipation of needs
• Native GDS expertise (Amadeus) >> two years minimum experience
• Native or full working proficiency in German (written and verbal) is a must. ENGLISH and any additional European language could be considered a plus
• Attention to detail
• Act with integrity, and look after personal traveler information
• Possess a strong understanding of the travel industry (background in business travel, leisure travel, or airline reservation)
• Resolving customer issues quickly and independently / with supplier
• Teamwork and openness to feedback

Our Traveler Care team is a 24/7 operation. We have additional shift allowances for Overnight Shift Schedule
