Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Travel Counselor to join our highly skilled remote team for corporate travel support. The role focuses on advising and arranging travel for clients, including groups, across domestic and international destinations.

We value a strong client-service mindset and German language proficiency, with English plus additional languages considered a plus. This is a 24/7 Traveler Care position with overnight shift allowances in a remote Spain-based setup.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience with Amadeus GDS.
• Native German language proficiency required (written and verbal).
• English proficiency; other European languages a plus.
• Strong client service orientation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a shared, after-hours travel support environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate customers (individuals and groups).
• Research travel options and proactively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services.
• Book domestic and international business travel across air, rail, and hotels.
• Utilize Amadeus GDS; refreshment training may be provided.
• Ensure compliance with travel policy, provider policies, and regulations.
• Provide courteous service via telephone and handle special requests.
• Collaborate with the team to coach, mentor and improve service levels.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups)
• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and pro‑actively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services
• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations
• Use of Amadeus Global Distribution System - Refreshment training may be provided
• Ensure compliance to customers’ agreed travel policy, service provider policies, and regulatory requirements
• Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests
• Collaborate within your team to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to improve service levels

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for excellence in client service, including proactive anticipation of needs
• Native GDS expertise (Amadeus) >> two years minimum experience
• Native or full working proficiency in German (written and verbal) is a must. ENGLISH and any additional European language could be considered a plus
• Attention to detail
• Act with integrity, and look after personal traveler information
• Possess a strong understanding of the travel industry (background in business travel, leisure travel, or airline reservation)
• Resolving customer issues quickly and independently / with supplier
• Teamwork and openness to feedback

Our Traveler Care team is a 24/7 operation. We offer additional shift allowances for Overnight shift.
