Job summary

DHL Supply Chain Phils., Inc. in Metro Manila is seeking a Transportation Planner to ensure efficient planning and execution of customer orders while optimizing transport costs.

You will handle truck utilization, route planning, and coordination with customers and carriers. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 2 years in transportation operations or logistics, and proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transportation operations or logistics.
• Experience with distribution and transport operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process customer orders through designated systems.
• Validate and confirm orders within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Prepare and maintain order consignment planning schedules.
• Ensure FIFO principles in planning and dispatch of orders.
• Upload consolidated order files through DHL Link, FileZilla, or other approved platforms.
• Perform trip creation in TMS per business rules and requirements.
• Optimize truck utilization and route planning to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and ad hoc operational reports accurately and on time.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on service enhancement and cost optimization.

About the role

The Transportation Planner is responsible for ensuring the efficient planning and execution of customer orders at the highest service levels while optimizing transportation costs. The role focuses on transport planning, trip creation in the Transportation Management System (TMS), truck utilization optimization, customer coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process customer orders through designated systems
• Validate and confirm orders within the Transportation Management System (TMS)
• Prepare and maintain order consignment planning schedules
• Ensure First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principles are observed in the planning and dispatch of orders
• Upload consolidated order files through DHL Link, FileZilla, or other approved platforms
• Perform trip creation in TMS in accordance with established business rules and operational requirements
• Optimize truck utilization and route planning to maximize efficiency and minimize cost-to-serve
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and ad hoc operational reports accurately and on time
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on service enhancement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or any related field
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in transportation operations, logistics, supply chain planning, or a related environment
• Experience in distribution and transport operations is highly preferred
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Order Management Systems (OMS), or similar enterprise platforms is an advantage
• Strong understanding of transportation planning, routing, load optimization, and fleet utilization
• Knowledge of transportation tariffs, freight costing, and logistics operations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
