Job summary

About the role

The Transport Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company's transportation activities. This includes supervising drivers and transport personnel, coordinating vehicle schedules, ensuring timely and safe transportation, maintaining fleet efficiency, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable transportation regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily transportation operations and vehicle dispatch.
• Manage drivers, conductors, and other transport personnel, including work schedules and assignments.
• Plan and monitor vehicle routes, schedules, and trips to ensure efficient and timely service.
• Monitor vehicle availability, condition, fuel consumption, and maintenance requirements.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and registration of company vehicles.
• Ensure all drivers and vehicles comply with safety standards, company policies, and legal requirements.
• Monitor driver attendance, performance, behavior, and compliance with traffic and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and ensure that defects are reported and addressed promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel usage, vehicle maintenance, accidents, incidents, and driver performance.
• Investigate transportation-related accidents, complaints, delays, and operational issues and recommend corrective actions.
