Job summary

ALIN CARGO EXPRESS CORPORATION in the Philippines seeks a capable mechanic with strong expertise in trailer systems, diagnostics, PMS inspections, and on-site heavy-vehicle repair. You will diagnose engine, electrical, braking, and suspension problems; perform preventive maintenance; prepare repair and inspection reports; and respond to roadside breakdowns with a safety-first approach.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of trailer systems and components (air brake, suspensions, hubs, tires, lights).
• Ability to diagnose engine, transmission, electrical, braking and warning-light problems.
• Can conduct PMS inspections and prepare repair/maintenance checklists.
• Ability to identify whether repairs can be done in-house or require outside specialists.
• Knowledge of safety practices for lifting, wheel chocking, air-pressure safety.

Job description

• Trailer systems: Knowledge of:
  Air brake system
  Brake chambers and slack adjusters
  Suspension and leaf springs
  Axles, hubs and bearings
  Trailer electrical/wiring system
  Lights and ABS/EBS where applicable
  Fifth wheel and kingpin inspection
  Landing gear
  Tires and wheel assemblies

• Truck diagnostics: Able to diagnose engine, transmission, electrical, braking and warning-light problems

• Preventive maintenance: Can conduct PMS inspections and prepare repair/maintenance checklists

• Troubleshooting: Able to identify whether a repair can be done in-house or requires an outside specialist

• Safety: Knowledge of proper lifting, wheel chocking, air-pressure safety and working under vehicles

• Documentation: Can prepare parts requests, job orders, inspection reports and repair recommendations

• Availability: Willing to respond to roadside breakdowns/emergency repairs.

• Driver's license: Preferably with the appropriate professional driver's license restriction/category for the mechanic will road-test or move heavy vehicles.
