Job summary

ING is seeking a Chapter Lead Engineer II for Trade Finance Services Interfaces. You will lead a global engineering chapter, shaping API and integration solutions, while balancing people leadership, technical excellence, and strategic influence.

You will foster a high-performance culture, drive architectural decisions, and partner with product teams to translate business priorities into scalable technology, delivery-ready roadmaps, and reliable services.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of software engineering teams or initiatives.
• Hands-on backend development with Java/Kotlin in large-scale systems.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
• Experience in Agile environments in enterprise-scale tech organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop engineering talent across the chapter.
• Coach and mentor engineers and foster inclusive, high-performance culture.
• Partner with Product Owners and architects to align tech and business priorities.
• Guide architecture, design, and modernization of API and integration solutions.
• Drive reliability, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and observability.
