Job summary

VJF TOOLMASTER CORP. in Laguna, Philippines invites applications for a Toolroom position focused on safekeeping and documentation of all machine tools, accessories and consumables used in production.

The role requires issuing items with proper approvals, maintaining inventory within defined levels and coordinating with Purchasing and QC. Candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable and capable of following written and verbal instructions with strong record-keeping skills.

Qualifications

• SHS or higher with basic Mathematics and records know-how.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures.
• Capable of handling machine tools safely and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Safekeep, record, monitor and maintain all machine tools, accessories, and consumables for production use.
• Issue tools and consumables to operators with supervisor approval and proper documentation.
• Requisition items below minimum inventory levels and coordinate with production.
• Ensure purchases do not exceed maximum inventory levels.
• Verify tools are in good working condition and request repairs/calibration as needed.
• Receive tools/consumables with Purchasing and QC coordination.
• Maintain accurate records of items, costs, sources and whereabouts.
• Practise 5S and housekeeping to keep the toolroom orderly.

Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Is responsible for the safekeeping, recording, monitoring & maintaining all machine tools, accessories and other consumable for production use.

2. Issues tools, accessories and consumables to operators upon approval by Production Supervisor and with proper documentation.

3. Files requisitions of tools, accessories & consumables that have fallen below the minimum inventory level and/or as requested by production.

4. Ensures that purchases of tools, accessories & consumables do not exceed the maximum inventory level.

5. Ensures that all tools and accessories are in good working conditions and requests repairs and calibration if necessary.

6. Receives all tools, accessories & consumables in coordination with Purchasing and QC.

7. Maintains accurate and updated records of all items inside the toolroom indicating costs, sources of items and whereabouts.

8. Practices 5s, and proper housekeeping to maintain orderliness in the area.

COMPETENCY

1. SHS Grad, Tech-Vocational or College Level Graduate.

2. Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply.

3. Is proficient in record keeping, monitoring and reporting.

4. Has knowledge in basic Mathematics, Algebra and Geometry.

5. Has the ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions, policies and procedures.

6. Has the basic knowledge in handling of machine tools, accessories and consumables.

7. Is proficient in filling-up and usage of various documents such as; material withdrawal slips, delivery receipts, gate passes and other forms of documents.

8. Has good moral Character; is trustworthy; and honest.

9. Has good communication skills and interpersonal relationships with co-workers, clients and suppliers.
