Qualifications

• Experience as tinsmith, sheet metal worker, welder or similar skilled trade.
• Knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication and welding techniques.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings and use measuring tools.
• Proficient in using welding machines and metal fabrication tools.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, mark, cut, bend, shape, and fabricate sheet-metal materials
• Perform welding, brazing, and other metal-joining processes as required
• Fabricate and assemble ducts, panels, covers, frames, tanks, pipes, and other metal components
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding machines, grinders, shears, and other metalworking equipment safely
• Inspect welds, dimensions, and finished components for quality and accuracy
• Repair damaged or defective metal components
• Prepare metal surfaces before welding, including cleaning, grinding, and fitting
• Follow proper welding procedures and workplace safety regulations
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in good condition

About you

• Proven experience as a Tinsmith, Sheet Metal Worker, Welder, or similar skilled trade
• Knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication and welding techniques
• Ability to use measuring tools and read basic technical drawings
• Proficient in using welding machines and metal fabrication tools
• Good knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit and able to work in various work environments
• Welding certification or relevant technical training is an advantage
• Relevant trade experience or vocational qualification preferred
