Job summary

UCT in Cebu is seeking a seasoned Test Engineer IV to join our embedded software/hardware testing group for SaaS products. You will bridge Testing and Development, drive defect reproduction, validation and regression testing, and guide peers in planning and executing tests.

Ideal candidates hold a BS or MS in engineering or CS and have 5–10+ years in product-based testing, with IoT experience (embedded, gateway, cloud, Wi-Fi).

Qualifications

• BS or MS in computer, electronic, electrical engineering or CS.
• 5–10+ years of product-based testing experience.
• Experience in IoT products (embedded, gateway, cloud, Wi-Fi) such as LoraWAN, Zwave, Zigbee.
• Knowledge of testing concepts and methodologies.
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail) for plans, test cases and reports.
• Experience with defect tracking tools (Redmine, JIRA).
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps, software verification and validation.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

About the role

UCT is looking for a talented Test Engineer IV to join us in Cebu. You will carry out hands‑on system embedded software/hardware testing activities for SaaS products, acting as an interface between Testing and Development teams to help in defect reproduction, validation and regression testing for assigned projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out hands‑on system embedded sw/hardware testing activities for SaaS product
• Act as an interface between Testing and Development (Embedded SW/Cloud Application/Hardware) teams to help in defect reproduction, carry out validation and regression testing for the assigned project
• Plan the testing and automation activities for team members, guide and mentor them
• Identify, evaluate, and validate development issues and communicate project's technical status to R&D management
• Represent Test team in cross‑functional meetings and take ownership in testing schedules, quality of work and activities
• Manage feedback and deployment issues promptly with customers and internal teams
• Participate in on‑site deployments/demos/presentations of the IIOT Product Solution

About you

• BS or MS in computer/electronic/electrical engineering or computer science
• At least 5 to 10 years or more product‑based testing experience
• Experience in IOT products, such as embedded, gateway, cloud (fullstack) and so on (e.g LoraWAN, Zwave, Zigbee, Wi‑Fi)
• Knowledge and experience of Testing Concepts and Methodologies
• Experience in Test Management Tools (eg TestRail) for developing test plans/procedure, test cases execution and preparing test reports
• Experience in using defect report tools (Eg. Redmine, JIRA)
• Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skill, and ability to work independently and in teams
• Experience with Agile software development, DevOps, software verification and validation
• Able to work in fast‑paced environment and deliver quality under minimal supervision
• Possess good analytical and creative problem‑solving skills
