Job summary

Umpisa Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for web, mobile, and API applications, ensuring quality, reliability, and performance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and test management practices, and will actively participate in Agile ceremonies to drive continuous quality improvements across projects.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of software test automation experience.
• Experience writing automated test scripts in JavaScript with WebdriverIO, Cucumber, and MochaJS.
• API test automation experience.
• Mobile test automation experience (Appium, Android Studio, iOS Simulator).
• CI/CD pipeline experience (Azure DevOps or Jenkins).
• Experience with BrowserStack or similar cloud testing platforms.
• Knowledge of Playwright and JMeter is a plus.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API apps.
• Create and maintain automated test cases and reusable frameworks using listed tools.
• Develop and run API automation tests to validate functionality and integrations.
• Perform mobile app testing across Android and iOS platforms.
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing using BrowserStack.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or Jenkins).
• Manage source control with Git/Azure Repos.
• Analyze results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to fix issues.
• Continuously improve automation frameworks and test coverage.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews to drive quality.
• Perform performance/load testing as needed using JMeter.
• Explore modern automation tools like Playwright to boost efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications.
• Create and maintain automated test cases, test scenarios, and reusable test frameworks using JavaScript, WebdriverIO, Cucumber Framework, and MochaJS.
• Develop and execute API automation tests to validate application functionality and system integrations.
• Perform mobile application testing using Appium, Android Studio, and iOS Simulator (Xcode).
• Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing using BrowserStack to ensure compatibility across multiple environments.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (Azure Pipelines) or similar tools such as Jenkins.
• Manage source code repositories using Azure Repos and Git, following version control best practices.
• Analyze test execution results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Continuously improve automation frameworks, testing processes, and overall test coverage.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews to support continuous quality improvement.
• Perform performance and load testing when required using JMeter (preferred).
• Explore and implement modern automation tools such as Playwright to improve testing efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in Software Test Automation, QA Automation, or a similar role.
• Strong experience in writing automated test scripts using JavaScript, WebdriverIO, Cucumber Framework, and MochaJS.
• Hands‑on experience with API Test Automation.
• Experience with mobile test automation using Appium, Android Studio, and iOS Simulator (Xcode).
• Proficient in version control using Git and Azure Repos.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (Azure Pipelines) or Jenkins.
• Experience using BrowserStack or similar cloud-based device testing platforms.
• Knowledge of Playwright and JMeter is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and Agile development practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
