BW Epic Kosan Crewing Inc. in Manila seeks a Crewing Assistant to ensure seafarers placed on board are properly qualified under STCW and Flag State regulations, medically fit, and compliant with company policies and vessel requirements.
Responsibilities include verifying statutory compliance, coordinating US visa arrangements, arranging joining gear, updating crew records in the management system, and assisting in dispatch and document validity monitoring.
The Crewing Assistant has a core function to ensure that all seafarers placed on board by the Company are properly qualified in accordance with International (STCW) and Flag State regulations, are medically fit and comply with Company Recruitment Policies and Customer Vessel requirements.
It is also important to verify the seafarer's compliance to Statutory regulations, and Company's SMS procedures.
The Crewing Assistant reports directly to the Crewing Team Leader in Manila, Philippines.
The main duties are:
Ensure all seafarers placed on board by the Company are properly qualified in accordance with International (STCW) and Flag State regulations, are medically fit, and comply with Company Recruitment Policies and Customer Vessel requirements.
Facilitate arrangement of US visa in coordination with seafarers.
Facilitate working gears / PPE requirement of joining crew.
Checks and updates crew personnel information in crew management system.
Verifies, and updates crew documents and certificates in crew management system.
Arrange the original documents and certificates of joining crew prior dispatch.
Conduct dispatch of joining crew.
Process the requisition of Cash Advance and facilitate its release to joining crew.
Assist in monitoring the validity of documents and licenses of crew.
Possess a bachelor's degree preferably with high IT skills/interest or IT graduate
Minimum 12 months' experience in Crewing.
Maintain and meet specific Crewing Team performance metrics.
Team player with some leadership skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Analytical and takes initiatives to improve work processes.
Result-oriented and familiar with requirements in STCW
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, innovative and a good team player.
Good computer and organization skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
