Verkada is seeking a Technical Support Engineering intern to join our San Mateo headquarters. You’ll work on cutting-edge cloud-managed IoT technology, assisting enterprise clients with troubleshooting and system design as part of a fast-growing, privacy-conscious AI-powered platform.

This full-time in-person Spring 2027 internship requires a 3rd/4th-year bachelor’s student in a technical field, with networking and Linux coursework.

Qualifications

• Third or fourth-year student in a Bachelor’s degree program with a focus on Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
• coursework experience with computer networking, Linux, and computer systems.
• Problem-solver with a keen eye for detail.
• Clear and confident communicator of complex technical information.
• Thrives in a team environment.
• Industry certifications (CCNP, CCNA, Network+) are a bonus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on Troubleshooting: address complex network, hardware, and software problems on Verkada’s platform.
• Level Up Fast: become the go-to expert for smart system design and integration advice.
• Communicate with Impact: translate technical concepts into clear guidance via phone, live chat, and emails.
• Own It, End to End: take full ownership of customer issues from problem to solution.

Based at our San Mateo HQ, you'll work with cutting-edge, cloud-managed IoT technology, helping our enterprise clients with everything from troubleshooting to system design.

What You'll Do

• Hands-on Troubleshooting: Dive into complex network, hardware, and software problems on Verkada's platform
• Level Up Fast: Become the go-to expert customers trust for smart system design and integration advice
• Communicate with Impact: Translate heavy technical concepts into clear, sharp advice on phone calls, live chat, and emails
• Own It, End to End: Take full ownership of customer issues from "we have a problem" to "problem solved"
• Team Up with Tech Leaders: Partner directly with Engineering and Product teams to test new gear and hunt down bugs before anyone else
• Share Knowledge: Write Knowledge Base content that helps thousands of users

What You Bring

• Available for a full-time (40 hours per week) in-person internship for Spring 2027 in San Mateo, CA
• A third or fourth-year student in a Bachelor's degree program from an accredited university, with a focus on a related technical field like Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity
• You have coursework experience with computer networking, Linux, and computer systems
• You’re a problem-solver with a keen eye for detail
• You can clearly and confidently communicate complex technical information
• You thrive in a team environment
• Industry certifications (like CCNP, CCNA, or Network+) are a bonus, but not required!

Pay Disclosure

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting base pay may be above or below this range. Base pay is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
