Job summary

Unitra Maritime Manila Inc. is seeking a Technical Superintendent to develop and deliver engine department training programs. The role involves lecturing, demonstrations, and coordinating Pre-Departure Orientation and SMS trainings for crew.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in a marine field, has 5–10 years in training, and possesses strong public speaking and communication skills. On-site work in Manila with full-time employment is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a marine-related field.
• IMO Model Course 6.09 required; 6.10 advantageous.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in training within maritime environments.
• Strong leadership, public speaking and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programs for engine department crew.
• Lead lectures and hands-on sessions on engine safety and operations.
• Conduct Pre-Departure Orientation, SMS trainings and other in-house trainings.
• Assess crew performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Evaluate applicants' qualifications for engine department roles.
• Prepare training modules, matrices, evaluations and reports.
• Stay updated with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with industry professionals to enhance courses.

The following will be the main duties of the Technical Superintendent, among others:

• Develop and implement training programs for UMMI crew in the Engine Department.
• Deliver lectures and practical demonstrations on engine safety and operations.
• Conduct Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar, SMS Trainings, and other In-house trainings of the company
• Assess engine crew's performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Assess engine crew applicants' qualifications and suitability for the job.
• Prepare modules, training matrices, evaluations and reports relevant to the engine department.
• Stay updated with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with industry professionals to enhance training courses.

Job Requirements:

• Education Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Marine Transportation, Maritime Studies, or any related field
• Training Course for Instructors (IMO Model Course 6.09)
• With IMO Model Course 6.10 is an advantage
• Experience Level: 5-10 years
