Job summary

Unitra Maritime Manila Inc. is seeking a Marine Superintendent to lead training programs for seafarers and cadets at our Manila operations.

You will deliver lectures, conduct simulations, and oversee Pre-Departure Orientation seminars, ensuring compliance with SMS and industry standards. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, with experience in evaluating crew qualifications and developing course materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies or related field.
• Training courses include IMO Model Course 6.09; 6.10 is an advantage.
• Experience level: 5–8 years in maritime training or operations.
• Strong leadership, public speaking and written communication skills.
• Design training materials and learning resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop training programs for UMMI seafarers and cadets.
• Deliver lectures and practical training on maritime safety and operations.
• Conduct Pre-Departure Orientation seminars and SMS trainings.
• Assess crew performance and provide feedback.
• Assess Deck crew applicants’ qualifications and suitability for the job.
• Prepare training modules, matrices, evaluations and monitor objectives.
• Stay updated with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with industry professionals to enhance courses.

The following will be the main duties of the Marine Superintendent, among others:

• Develop and implement training programs for UMMI seafarers.
• Deliver lectures and practical demonstrations on maritime safety and operations.
• Conduct Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar, SMS Trainings, and other In-house trainings.
• Assess crew's performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Assess Deck crew applicants' qualifications and suitability for the job.
• Prepare modules, training matrices, evaluations and monitor attainment of quality objectives.
• Handle UMMI Cadets' trainings and monitor their performance.
• Stay updated with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with industry professionals to enhance training courses.

Job Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related field
• Training Course for Instructors (IMO Model Course 6.09)
• With IMO Model Course 6.10 is an advantage
• Experience Level: 5–8 years
