Technical Services Engineer (BIM|VDC) provides expert-level support, training, and implementation servicesfor BIM/VDC tools and workflows. This role bridges technical expertise with operational needs, ensuring seamless adoption of digital engineering practices across teams and projects.
2.1 TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND TROUBLESHOOTING
- 2.10 Diagnose and resolve issues related to BIM/VDC software, model coordination, data interoperability, and automation scripts.
- 2.11 Maintain a troubleshooting log and elevate complex issues to software vendors or internal development teams when necessary.
- 2.12 Respond promptly to support inquiries from project teams, operations associates, and internal stakeholders.
2.2 CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LIAISON
- 2.21 Collaborate with operations, engineering, and IT teams to understand project-specific requirements.
- 2.22 Translate operational needs into tailored BIM/VDC solutions, workflows, and tool configurations.
- 2.23 Participate in coordination meetings to align technical services with project goals.
2.3 TRAINING AND ENABLEMENT
- 2.31 Design and deliver structured training sessions, workshops, and product demonstrations.
- 2.32 Develop user guides, micro-learning modules.
- 2.33 Track training completion and gather feedback to improve future sessions.
2.4 DOCUMENTATION & KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
- 2.41 Prepare detailed reports on support cases, resolutions, and lessons learned.
- 2.42 Contribute to the internal knowledge base with SOPs, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
- 2.43 Document best practices and workflow enhancements for continuous improvement.
2.5 NEW WORKFLOW IMPLEMENTATION
- 2.51 Assist in planning, testing, and deploying new BIM/VDC tools, services, and upgrades.
- 2.52 Conduct pilot programs and sandbox testing to validate new workflows.
2.6 INDUSTRY AWARENESS & INNOVATION
- 2.61 Stay informed on emerging technologies, software updates, and industry trends in BIM/VDC.
- 2.62 Attend webinars, conferences, and vendor demos to scout new capabilities.
- 2.63 Recommend innovative solutions and process improvements aligned with organization’s strategy.
