Job summary

SHIMIZU-FUJITA-TAKENAKA-EEI JOINT VENTURE is seeking a BIM Specialist to develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models, aligned with BEP and client requirements. You will work with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure coordinated, clash-free models accessible to all stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, mechanical or electrical fields.
• Additional BIM, CAD or digital construction training is an advantage.
• Proficiency in BIM authoring tools such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 and local regulations is required.
• Understanding of drawings and multidisciplinary coordination across disciplines.
• Ability to generate 2D drawings, schedules and reports from BIM models.

Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models in accordance with project standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and client requirements.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure coordinated, clash-free, and integrated models accessible to all stakeholders.

• Generate data and model-based outputs to support analysis, decision-making, and improved project outcomes.

• Conduct regular quality checks on models to ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.

• Provide training, guidance, and support to team members on BIM software, processes, and best practices.

• Integrate various software tools and technologies to enhance workflows and optimize the BIM process.

• Participate in coordination meetings and provide model-based visualizations to aid decision-making.

• Maintain version control, model documentation, and organized file management to ensure consistency across all project deliverables.

• Ensure that all BIM practices adhere to local, national, and international regulations, including ISO 19650 standards for information management.

• Contribute to continues improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance BIM processes, tools, and team efficiency.

• Perform other duties from time to time as assigned by the superiors.

EDUCATION, TECHNICAL ABILITY, CAREER/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields in the built environment.

• Additional training or certification in BIM, CAD, or digital construction technologies is an advantage.

• Proficiency in BIM authoring tools such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

• Knowledge of BIM standards, particularly ISO 19650 and relevant local/national regulations.

• Strong understanding of construction drawings, detailing, and multidisciplinary coordination across Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.

• Ability to generate 2D drawings, schedules, and reports from BIM models.

• Familiarity with clash detection, model auditing, and quality control workflows.

• Experience with collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC, ProjectWise, or Similar).

• Basic knowledge of programming or scripting (e.g., Dynamo, Python) for model automation is a plus.

CAREER/ EXPERIENCE

• At least 1-3 years of relevant experience in BIM modeling within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.

• Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary coordination, particularly between Architectural, Structural, and MEP disciplines.

• Experience working on projects that applied BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and followed ISO 19650 standards.

• Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or building projects in preferred but not required.

• Willingness to continuously learn new BIM tools, workflows, and technologies to support career growth.

KEY SKILLS

• Proficiency in BIM software (Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).

• Strong knowledge of BIM standards, particularly ISO 19650, and local/national regulations.

• Ability to interpret and produce accurate construction drawings and technical documentation.

• Time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.

• Adaptability and willingness to learn emerging digital construction technologies.

• Basic understanding of automation tools (e.g., Dynamo, Python, or visual scripting) is an advantage.
