Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a mid-level Technical SEO lead to serve as the technical authority across our client portfolio. You will conduct audits, direct developers, manage tracking implementations, and ensure client websites generate measurable results.

You will work closely with the wider team, guiding freelancers and client-side devs, and will stay ahead of AI and SEO trends to improve internal processes. A strong analytical mindset and organised documentation habits are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in technical SEO, ideally within an agency environment managing multiple clients simultaneously.
• Confident working directly with developers — translate SEO requirements into clear briefs and hold developers accountable.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager and GA4, including setting up and auditing tracking implementations.
• Comfortable leading and reviewing the work of freelancers, junior team members, or client-side dev teams.
• Analytically sharp — able to run complex SEO analyses and communicate results to clients and colleagues.
• Eager to learn and keep up with AI, SEO and GEO trends to optimise internal processes.
• Highly organised with strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
• Familiar with Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush, and project tools like Notion.

Responsibilities

• Support website migrations, including backups, benchmarking, and flagging risks.
• Improve technical SEO processes and stay updated on AI and SEO trends.

About the role

This is a mid-level, hands-on position with real scope to grow further. You\'ll be the technical authority across our client portfolio, leading audits, directing developers, managing tracking implementations, figuring out website issues, and making sure clients\' websites generate results. You\'ll work closely with the wider team and have direct involvement in some of our most important client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across all clients, from full site audits to ongoing monthly maintenance checks
• Coordinate with external developers and dev agencies to get fixes implemented to our standards—managing communication, reviewing their work, and ensuring quality throughout
• Oversee clients\' in-house development teams, keeping their technical output aligned with our SEO requirements
• Set up and maintain tracking in Google Tag Manager, GA4, and directly on client websites to ensure clean, reliable data collection
• Document all technical work thoroughly — preparing before-and-after summaries and keeping Notion up to date with changes and outcomes
• Support website migrations, including data backups, performance benchmarking, and proactively flagging technical risks before they become problems
• Improve technical SEO processes, learning and keeping up with trends in AI and SEO
