Job summary

Jobgether, a partner-led fintech, is seeking a Technical Leader (Fullstack Backend focused) based in Mexico. You will shape backend architecture, set technical standards, and drive the engineering roadmap while staying hands-on.

Lead a team to deliver scalable APIs and distributed systems using TypeScript/Node.js. You will work with Product, Frontend, DevOps, and aim to introduce AI-powered practices to boost velocity and quality.

Qualifications

• 6+ years backend development with 4+ years in leadership roles.
• Proficient with TypeScript/Node.js and NestJS or Express.js.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases and data modeling.
• Cloud infra, AWS, containers, CI/CD, and IaC practices.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and Kafka is a plus.
• Ability to lead engineers, code reviews, and establish standards.
• Collaborates effectively with frontend teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and establish engineering practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Partner with Product, Frontend, DevOps to deliver scalable technical solutions.
• Architect, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Design systems for high availability, performance, security, and zero-downtime deployment.
• Own backend direction and roadmap balancing delivery with maintainability.
• Improve reliability via testing, monitoring, observability, and incident management.
• Leverage AI tools to improve productivity and engineering workflows.
• Introduce new technologies to enhance the platform and development process.
• Translate business requirements into robust backend architectures.
