Job summary

ESOL IT SERVICES INC. is seeking a Senior Software Lead to guide a team of developers through the full software lifecycle. You will ensure adherence to architecture, standards, and objectives while delivering scalable backend services and integrations using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.

The role requires hands-on development, API design, and cloud-native practices with AWS and OpenShift. Expertise in ReactJS and mobile app deployment is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, software engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in software development and technical leadership.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring/Spring Boot for backend development.
• Strong experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and technical stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.




• Provide technical guidance in web and mobile application development, including modern JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS.




• Support the development and deployment of mobile applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.




• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.




• Establish and promote unit testing practices to ensure application quality, reliability, and performance.




• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, performance concerns, and production defects.




• Work closely with QA and other technical teams to ensure effective testing, defect resolution, and successful deployment.




• Use version control systems such as Git to manage source code and support collaborative development.




• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.




• Mentor and coach developers, helping improve their technical skills, coding practices, and overall performance.




• Identify technical risks and dependencies and recommend appropriate solutions or mitigation strategies.




• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and development practices that can improve application performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
