Qualifications

• Recognized football coaching qualification (AFC or FIFA Level 2 or equivalent minimum).
• Proven experience working with youth players at grassroots level.
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate training.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with players, parents and clubs.
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive training environment.
• Knowledge of modern technical coaching methods.
• Physically fit and able to demonstrate skills.
• Willing to work weekends/evenings.
• Passion for developing young talent in the Philippines.

About the role
The Philippine Football Federation is seeking a Technical Development Officer for Grassroots to join our dedicated team in Carmona, Cavite. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in nurturing young football talent at the grassroots level. You will be responsible for developing and implementing technical training programmes that form the foundation of our football development pathway. This role is essential to building a strong pipeline of skilled players and creating a positive football culture across the Philippines from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

Design and deliver technical football training sessions for grassroots players, focusing on fundamental skills, ball control, passing, shooting and tactical awareness

Develop age-appropriate coaching curricula and training materials for youth football programs

Coach and mentor grassroots-level football teams, ensuring players receive consistent technical instruction and guidance

Assess player development progress and provide constructive feedback to coaches, players and parents

Collaborate with local football clubs and schools to implement and standardize grassroots development programs

Conduct coaching clinics and workshops to up skill grassroots coaches on modern technical training methodologies

Maintain detailed records of player development, training sessions and program outcomes

Travel to various locations throughout the Philippines to conduct training sessions and support grassroots initiatives

Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of grassroots football programs based on performance data and feedback

What we're looking for

Recognzsed football coaching qualification (AFC or FIFA Level 2 or equivalent minimum)

Proven experience working with youth football players, particularly at grassroots or development level

Strong understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate training methodologies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with players, coaches, parents and club officials

Demonstrated ability to create a positive, inclusive and motivating training environment

Knowledge of modern technical football coaching methods and skill development progressions

Physical fitness and ability to demonstrate technical football skills and coaching techniques

Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings when necessary

Passion for developing young talent and advancing football in the Philippines

Preferred: Experience in a technical development or academy setting, or previous involvement with regional or national youth programs
