Job summary

Private Advertiser invites applications for a role assisting the hatchery head technician in supervising maturation, larval rearing, algal, water quality and microbial lab sections. Responsibilities

• Assist head technician in monitoring feeds for broodstocks and PL stages, and ensure schedules and feed consumption.
• Observe shrimps for signs of distress or disease with lab tech; monitor gut status and behavior.
• Oversee lab technician in monitoring and recording water parameters (pH, temperature, minerals, ammonia).
• Adjust water conditions through treatment or water management as needed.
• Identify and report signs of abnormalities or diseases in broodstocks, nauplii, zoea, mysis, and PL.
• Administer treatments with head and lab tech and implement biosecurity measures.
• Oversee PL booking to clients with SANTEH Feeds Corp sales team, including payment collection.
• Book and arrange transport of PLs to clients and provide delivery receipts.
• Assist in maintaining records of broodstock and PL growth, water quality, feeding schedules, and health treatments.
• Serve as Pollution Control Officer and submit PRMP as required by DENR permit.

About the role

Assist the hatchery head technician in the overall technical supervision of the hatchery operation composed of maturation, larval rearing, algal, water quality and microbial laboratory sections, water quality and microbial monitoring in aide of the laboratory technician, in charge of samples for laboratory analysis, permit processing for transport of PLs and broodstocks, booking of PL orders, and serves as Pollution Control Officer (PCO) and provide regular submission of Performance Report and Management Plan (PRMP) as required in the DENR permit together with Managing Head (Administration Head).

Key responsibilities

• Assist the head technician in shrimp broodstocks and nauplii, zoea, mysis and PL stages feed monitoring and ensures established schedules and monitor feed consumption

• Observe shrimps for signs of empty gut, stress, disease, or abnormal appearance and behavior with the laboratory technician

• Oversees the laboratory technician on regularly monitoring and record keeping of water parameters (pH, temperature, minerals, ammonia levels, etc.)

• Adjust water conditions through treatment or water management as needed to ensure a healthy environment

• Identify and report any signs of shrimp broodstocks or nauplii, zoea, mysis and PL abnormalities or diseases

• Administer treatment together with the head and laboratory technician and implementing biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of disease

• Oversees PL booking to clients in coordination with SANTEH Feeds Corp sales personnel including payment collection

• Book and arrange transport of PLs to clients and provide delivery receipts

• Assist the head technician in maintaining detailed records of shrimp broodstock and PL growth rates, water quality, feeding schedules, and health treatments

• Serves as Pollution Control Officer (PCO) and provide regular submission of Performance Report and Management Plan (PRMP) as required in the DENR permit
