We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on, and results‑oriented Team Leader – Laptop Repair Technician to oversee daily laptop repair operations and lead a team of skilled repair technicians.
The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in laptop diagnostics, hardware and software troubleshooting, component‑level and board‑level repair, combined with proven leadership, coaching, and people‑management skills.
As the team's primary technical escalation point, the Team Leader will handle complex and challenging repair cases, provide technical guidance, monitor repair quality and productivity, and ensure that all devices are repaired accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
The role will also oversee daily repair workflows, assign jobs, monitor turnaround times and team performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement improvements that enhance productivity, repair quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Lead, supervise, coach, and motivate the Repair Technician Team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets.
Assign repair jobs based on technician skill level, workload, repair complexity, urgency, and priority.
Monitor technician attendance, productivity, repair quality, turnaround time (TAT), and overall performance.
Provide hands‑on technical assistance and guidance when required.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify training, coaching, and development needs.
Build and maintain a positive, organized, collaborative, accountable, and performance‑driven work environment.
Oversee daily repair activities and ensure jobs are completed within established TAT targets.
Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Ensure technicians consistently follow repair procedures, safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies.
Coordinate and prioritize repair workloads to maintain smooth and efficient day‑to‑day operations.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of laptop hardware and software issues, including:
LCD and display replacement
Keyboard replacement
Motherboard repair
Charging port and DC jack repair
Battery replacement
Component‑level repair
Board‑level repair
Perform advanced diagnostics, motherboard testing, electronic troubleshooting, soldering, and board‑level repairs as required.
Install, replace, upgrade, configure, and troubleshoot laptop components, including RAM, SSDs, HDDs, Wi‑Fi cards, cooling systems, and other peripherals.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows, macOS, and Linux, including drivers, firmware, system configurations, and software applications.
Perform data backup, migration, recovery, and system restoration when required.
Handle complex, difficult, or escalated repair cases and provide technical direction to technicians.
Investigate recurring, unusual, or difficult technical issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Share technical knowledge, repair techniques, and best practices to improve the team's diagnostic accuracy and repair capabilities.
Stay updated on emerging laptop technologies, repair techniques, diagnostic tools, and relevant industry practices.
Conduct final quality inspections, functional testing, and diagnostics before repaired devices are released.
Ensure all repaired devices meet established quality, functionality, and service standards.
Monitor key operational metrics, including:
Technician productivity
Repair completion rates
Turnaround Time (TAT)
Pending and aging repairs
Quality and rework rates
Spare parts and inventory usage
Overall team performance
Ensure team service and performance targets are consistently achieved.
Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Analyze repair and operational data to identify bottlenecks, recurring technical issues, productivity gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Recommend and implement process improvements to increase repair efficiency, improve quality, reduce turnaround time, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate repair records, service documentation, performance reports, and other required operational records.
Monitor the availability, condition, and proper use of repair tools, equipment, spare parts, and consumables.
Coordinate with relevant personnel to ensure timely replenishment of required parts, tools, and supplies.
Ensure proper handling, security, and accountability of customer devices, repair equipment, and company assets.
Assist in resolving customer concerns by providing clear, professional, and technically accurate explanations, findings, and recommendations when necessary.
Coordinate with other departments to support efficient workflows, timely repairs, and effective service delivery.
Perform other technical, operational, supervisory, and leadership duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor's Degree, Technical/Vocational Diploma, or equivalent practical experience in Electronics, Computer Technology, Information Technology, or a related field is an advantage.
Proven experience as a Laptop Repair Technician, Computer Technician, Electronics Technician, or in a similar technical repair role.
At least 1 year of experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
Strong hands‑on knowledge of laptop hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
Experience in component‑level and board‑level repair, including soldering and motherboard troubleshooting, is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, delegation, and people‑management skills.
Excellent analytical, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including operational reporting and basic data analysis.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced repair environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to repair quality, accuracy, and customer service.
Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with team members and other departments.
